No. It never opens messages, never downloads attachments, and never shows a body in the tank. Creatures carry only what you can already see in the Gmail list — sender, subject, time, unread.
No by default. Visible list metadata stays on your computer in local extension storage. There is no mail backend and no path that ships inbox content to a server.
Only currently visible list rows after you accept privacy onboarding — across Inbox, Sent, Starred, or a label you have open. When you leave the list for a conversation, the tank holds the last list view so it does not flash empty.
No. The homepage aquarium is a live demo on synthetic fixtures. It never connects to Gmail. Your real tank lives in the Chrome extension beside your mail.
Gmail in Chrome for the first release. The architecture leaves room for more later, but we are not shipping Outlook, IMAP, or other browsers yet.
In Chrome’s Side Panel for everyday glances, plus a full aquarium page when you want a larger tank. Click a creature to peek at sender and subject, then open the message back in Gmail.
